Puzzle Box
Try this family-friendly escape room-type activity. Use the clues posted around TinkerSpace to solve puzzles for the combinations of 4 locks keeping you out of the box and away from your prize. Don’t worry if you can’t solve it right away, the puzzle box will be available for the entire month of October. Bring your friends and work together during any Makers’ Open Studio time. There is no additional charge for this activity!

Special Workshops
Saturday, October 2nd @ 2:00 pm — Sweater Pumpkins
These pumpkins are perfect to leave out through Thanksgiving. You’ll want to make several for your own house and to give as gifts. Once you’ve learned the technique, you’ll be looking through your donation pile for items in too poor a shape to give away so you can make more!
We’ll provide the materials and full instructions in the half-hour before Makers’ Open Studio on Saturday. Stay as long as you wish into the open studio time to finish your pumpkin and work on other projects.
Cost: Members – FREE; Non-Members: $20 for the first child, $10 for all additional children. Each child admission includes one adult admission. No Reservations Required! Note: materials for one pumpkin per child admission (member or non-member) are included in admission. Materials for additional pumpkins are $8 each.

Saturday, October 23rd @ 1:30 pm — Wet Paper Folded Bats
Learn the wonderful technique of wet paper folding as you create a cauldron of bats to decorate your home for Halloween this year. We’ll lead you, step-by-step, through the process one hour before our Makers’ Open Studio on Saturday. You may then stay as long as you like into the open studio time to practice and make as many bats as you can, as well as work on any other projects that interest you.
Cost: Members – FREE; Non-Members: $20 for the first child, $10 for all additional children. Each child admission includes one adult admission. No Reservations Required!

Halloween Party
Saturday, October 30th @ 1:30 pm
Join the TinkerSpace community for a special holiday event. We’ll open one hour before our Makers’ Open Studio for a special Halloween Party! See science demonstrations, try out engineering challenges, make themed art and craft projects, play games, and enter a contest (costume contest, stuffed animal or doll costume contest, minute-to-win-it style contests). Stay for the open studio to finish any projects. Cost: Members – FREE; Non-Members: $20 for the first child, $10 for all additional children. Each child admission includes one adult admission.
RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED BY FRIDAY, OCTOBER 29.

Make Some Art,
Enter a Raffle
Click below the photos to download the PDF. Use a single color (black looks nice) to draw a design in each section of the background. I used parallel lines (switching direction in each section) but you can try out zentangles or draw any design you wish. Color over each section with crayon (I used warm colors for the moon and cool colors for the sky … you can color it how you want). Take a black marker and darken the bats.
Now that you’ve made some art, enter the raffle. (1) Bring your drawing to TinkerSpace (you get to keep it, we just want to see your amazing artwork). Each time you come to TinkerSpace in October, you’ll be entered into the raffle. (2) Share your artwork on social media and tag TinkerSpace (@exploretinkerspace on FB and @tinkerspacekat on IG). When we get notified of your tag, we’ll place a ticket into the raffle for you.
The raffle drawing will be held on Saturday, October 30th at 2:30 pm. If your name is drawn but you are not present, we will notify you. Prizes include Free Admission to TinkerSpace, Free TinkerSpace class coupons, choice of Klutz Books from the gift shop, and Packages of Make-do Cardboard Screws.

In our Open Makers Studio, YOU choose your project. We have the tools and supplies, just add your imagination. Our staff can help you think through any problem you encounter on the way to fulfilling your vision! Be inspired by our examples. Take your projects from class a step further.
