About TinkerSpace

A makerspace is a place to create, invent, tinker, explore, and discover using a variety of tools and materials. TinkerSpace has a 400 sq. foot makerspace (we call it our TinkerStudio) where children age 4-16 can create using recycled materials, standard art supplies, and technology. We have models and project suggestions, and our educators are there to help your children take their projects in any direction. Our playspace complements the makerspace concept by allowing children to interact with playthings that will help spur creative thought. For more directed making opportunities, sign up for TinkerSpace workshops. Our educators will provide instruction on fundamentals to empower you to create. Revisit a workshop on the same topic to redesign, tinker or create anew time and again.

Why Tinker?

Our goal for our tinkerers is to have them deeply engaged in the experience and displaying personal motivation and investment in the activities.

How Do We Tinker?

TinkerSpace provides opportunities children might not typically encounter or are too messy to allow at home.

Classes and Workshops

Learn how to use electronics, simple machines, and other technology as a tool in your creativity pack. Workshops are offered in a small group setting. Parents are welcome, even encouraged to stay and help their children, however, we ask that tinkerers\' creative abilities be respected and that they are allowed to make their projects their own.

Students under the age of 8 must have a parent/guardian remain on the premises for the duration of each class. (Stand Alone Workshops that are not part of a class require parent supervision for all children under 10).  Students enrolled in multiple classes with no more than a 15-minute gap between them may stay at TinkerSpace between activities. Otherwise, students must be picked up promptly at the end of class.
