Stop Motion Animation

Ages 8 - 15: Video Storytelling has become a must in today's society. We use stop-motion animation to teach fundamentals of storytelling with an emphasis on Fun! Each week introduces a concept for beginning students to work through and produce their unique animations. As students progress through the levels, we'll work on storyboarding their ideas, creating characters and scenery, and producing a full animation short of their own.
This class runs in a continuous cycle and students may begin in any week. You may register for a single class as a trial. However, animation skills build on themselves and we recommend a weekly commitment (offering 4-week and 12-week sessions).

Ages 8 - 15: Video Storytelling has become a must in today's society. We use stop-motion animation to teach fundamentals of storytelling with an emphasis on Fun! Each week introduces a concept for beginning students to work through and produce their unique animations. As students progress through the levels, we'll work on storyboarding their ideas, creating characters and scenery, and producing a full animation short of their own.
This class runs in a continuous cycle and students may begin in any week. You may register for a single class as a trial. However, animation skills build on themselves and we recommend a weekly commitment (offering 4-week and 12-week sessions).

Invite your children to explore process art and open-ended building projects. Parent attendance is required. Projects are offered with an invitation to create. Students stay with the project (and return as necessary) as long as their interest remains. Many projects encourage multiple steps with drying time breaks between them.

Open Studio
Make together as a family! Our studio is open for your creativity. Use our space, supplies, and tools to follow your imagination. Staff is on hand to help you brainstorm and problem solve. We're happy to teach you new techniques. Our staff will also lead 2 projects each week (one will lean toward art and the other toward the engineering sides of STEAM). The entire space is open during these times. Create a magnetic ball run on our large metal wall. Record your own stop-motion animation short film. Build in our large cardboard construction area. Design something to fly in the wind towers. Play with our logic and thinking toys. Cost: $20 for the first child, $10 for each additional child. Each child admission includes one adult. Additional adults are $5 each. No Reservations Required.

Stop Motion Animation

Ages 8 - 15: Video Storytelling has become a must in today's society. We use stop-motion animation to teach fundamentals of storytelling with an emphasis on Fun! Each week introduces a concept for beginning students to work through and produce their unique animations. As students progress through the levels, we'll work on storyboarding their ideas, creating characters and scenery, and producing a full animation short of their own.
This class runs in a continuous cycle and students may begin in any week. You may register for a single class as a trial. However, animation skills build on themselves and we recommend a weekly commitment (offering 4-week and 12-week sessions).

REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
Light it up, fling it far, watch it move. Learn about basic mechanisms while having the freedom to create based on your interests. 6- and 7-year-old students will need to have a parent on-site for the duration of this class. Older students will join the Builders' Workshop when they have grasped the basics of these fun mechanisms.
