Design Challenges for individuals, families, or teams.
Choose your timeslot – Wednesday morning, Wednesday afternoon, or Saturday afternoon. Bring your team or join up with fellow TinkerSpace guests.
These challenges are held during open studio times (and for the same price). Advance registration guarantees your place and allows for the preparation of materials to lessen waiting time. $25 discount per participant for pre-registration for all 5 Spring STEAM Challenges (be sure to select the “full course” option.
Cost:
Four remaining STEAM Challenges: $70 for one participant (age 8 – 16), $20 for each additional participant (age 8 – 16).
Single Session: $20 for one participant, $10 for each additional participant.
SCHEDULE:
February 22 or 25 — Use craft supplies to build a launching device to throw a ball as far as possible and a receiving device to catch it.
March 1 or 4 — Build a gravity-powered sorting machine that can separate small and large plastic spheres.
March 8 or 18 — Design and build your own rubber band paddle boat.
March 22 or 25 — Build a model of a terraced irrigation system that uses flowing water to transport plastic beads. Beads start in the top layer and must flow through each lower layer until they are retained in the bottom layer.
